Our mission

THE SOLUTION:

Working together to address inequality.

Through our collaborative, cross-sector approach we are building internal knowledge and resources within schools across the UK.  Our Elephant Access programme highlights the opportunities available to academically able students and encourages them to expand their aspirations and develop their skills, equipping them with the tools they need to access top third universities and supporting them through the application process.

We call this the three As to achievement:

ASPIRATION, APPLICATION, ATTAINMENT

“Higher education is a key driver of social mobility, as young people from low-income backgrounds are four times more likely to become socially mobile if they attend a university.”

The Sutton Trust

So far this year we have worked with:

9

Universities

64

Schools

2,528

Young people

Of the year 13s who left our programme (and school) in 2023, and responded to our end of programme survey:

78%

were planning to go to university.

46%

of offer holders had been offered a conditional place at one of our partner universities

60%

had secured a place at a top 1/3 university.

Last year we invested in the creation of a Theory of Change and a strong Evaluative Framework to help us to maximise the impact of our programme. We know that what we do changes lives and we are committed to getting data that will help us to continue to do so.
